Pregnancy is an amazing time, but can also be a stressful time of life. You are busy preparing for the arrival of a new baby. You may spend most of your time working at a job or caring for other children. The fatigue of pregnancy coupled with pressures from work or home life can leave you exhausted. It’s important to take some time to pamper yourself from time to time.
A Day at the Spa: Indulge in a day at the spa, or just a treatment or two. Look for a spa that offers prenatal massage. This should be done by someone experienced and trained in massaging pregnant women. Most have tables with a space for the belly cut out for your comfort. After the massage, treat yourself to a facial and a pedicure. A pedicure and painted toe nails will have your feet ready for sandal season and you won’t have to worry about your inability to reach your feet.
Create a Spa at home: If you don’t have time or don’t want to spend the money on the spa, create a spa in your home. Soak in the tub with aromatherapy bath oil and play relaxing music. Give yourself a facial and a pedicure. Most home facial products are completely safe for use in [tag-cat]pregnancy[/tag-cat]. You can also make home made facials with ingredients found in your kitchen, such as yogurt, strawberries or bananas. Recipes for homemade facial scrubs, cleansers and masks can be found online.
Visit the Hair Salon: A new hairstyle is the perfect pick me up if you are feeling down. During pregnancy, many women find their hair is thicker and easier to manage than ever before. A great cut will enhance this beauty bonus of pregnancy. You can get highlights, since the color is not placed on your scalp. Most experts agree that color is safe, but you may want to skip bleach or perms.
Go shopping for a new outfit after your visit to the hair salon or day at the spa. Your pregnant body is beautiful and a new outfit will make you feel pretty. Enjoy a day of shopping with a friend. Stop for lunch and make an afternoon of it. When the baby arrives, it will be more difficult to arrange these little trips, at least for a while.
Exercise is an important way to take care of your body on the inside. Studies have shown that regular exercise is great for controlling weight gain and avoiding some of the discomforts of pregnancy. In addition, exercise helps prepare your body for labor. you should try to exercise at least three times each week.
Choose a type of exercise that relaxes and refreshes you. Taking a [tag-tec]prenatal yoga[/tag-tec] class allows you to exercise and pamper yourself at the same time. Yoga is relaxing and builds strength and flexibility in the muscles. A walk outside after dinner may be a great way to relax and relieve stress. If you have other children, go for a [tag-ice]family[/tag-ice] walk after dinner.
